The final tally of St. George's Charity Tray collections to support the Back-to-School Backpack Drive is complete.  The total monetary donations from June and July totaled $1,800.00!  This will allow FOCUS Bridgeport to purchase 180 backpacks for the students in Bridgeport.  FOCUS Bridgeport announced that with all of the donations from the local Orthodox Churches, they made their goal of 400 backpacks. There next step is to fill these backpacks with items that will support children and families as they begin the school year.

This collection for the Backpack Drive is the highest donation amount St. George has ever collected for a Charity. We had a few very generous donations, however it was obvious that many, many parishioners participated.
