Bill Vasil celebrates his 90th Birthday! - 01/02/2011


On Sunday, January 2nd, the parish and the family of Bill Vasil recognized Bill’s 90th birthday at the church. A celebratory coffee hour was held in his honor in the church hall. May God grant Bill many more blessed years!  Click on the More info link below to view a few photos.

Thanks to Outgoing Parish Council Members - 01/02/2011

Our sincere thanks to the outgoing members of the Parish Council who completed their 3 year terms: Laura Denisevich, Pete Jordhamo, and Sue Lazos. Special thanks go to Bill Kovachi, Greg Buzi, and Joe Chadwick who served an extra year to help the Parish Council work through major transitional issues in 2010.

Congratulations to David Snedegar, who became a Catechumen last Sunday. This is the first step on the road to being officially received into the Orthodox Church. His sponsor is Pauline Dionis.  David’s name will mentioned in the Prayer for the Catechumens during the Divine Liturgy.

The St. George community recently completed the service cycle of Great Lent, Holy Week with the celebration of midnight Pascal Liturgy.

Christine Denisevich graduated from the University of Connecticut with a degree in Environmental Science.


Jennifer Nikola graduated, summa cum laude, from Drew University. She also received an award of $500 from the Sociology Department for her outstanding work.

Allison Cryan graduated from Notre Dame High School and will be attending Endicott College in Beverly, Massachusetts.

Meghan Maria Quinn graduated from Masuk High School in Monroe and will be attending Keene State College in New Hampshire.

Welcome to the Bouteneff's - 10/23/2011

St. George was blessed with a return visit from Fr. Sergei, Lisa and Anna Bouteneff for Divine Liturgy on Sunday, October 23rd. Fr. Sergei co-celebrated Liturgy with Fr. Dennis. Afterwards, the parish shared fellowship at a coffee hour in the church hall.

Celebrating St. Nicholas Day - 12/04/2011

Charity Collection Update - 12/18/2011

Our Charity Collections for the months of October and November totaled $430.00  The money was sent to the Albanian Archdiocese to support the renovation of our Chancery building.

Christ is born! Glorify Him!  Krishti U-Lind! Lavdërojeni!  are the traditional Orthodox Christian Christmas greetings in both English and Albanian. The St. George Community recently completed the service cycle of Advent with Divine Liturgy for the Nativity of the Lord.
